ART FARMingとは

「ART FARMing TV」は、一緒に遊べる参加型の「放送局プロジェクト」です。コロナ禍の一昨年にイベントとしてYouTubeチャンネルを開設して以来、月例で新しいテーマとスタイルを模索しながら放送を継続してきています。アートの放送局ということもあり、それが切り口になることは多いですが、その時々の参加者の案を織り込みつつ毎回「実験放送」を繰り返しています。
視聴者数の獲得より、送り手としてアーティストのみならず様々なジャンルの参加者と一緒に「テレビ局という遊び場を作る」というプロジェクトなのです。

長者町スクール・オブ・アーツとアート・ファーミング

愛知県名古屋市の中心部、中区錦二丁目「長者町」が過去約 20 年に渡って、まちづくりにアートを取り入れてきた事や、 2010年から始まった 3 年に一度の芸術祭「あいちトリエンナーレ」のまちなか会場を 3 度、約 10 年にわたって務めてきた ことをきっかけに 様々なアーティストやデザイナー、プロデューサーといったクリエイター達やアカデミア達がこのエリア に注目し、それぞれに場の経済とも結びつきながら、住人でありつつ外側からの視点も持って活動を継続しています。 現在、長者町エリアには高い技術やアイデアを持ったクリエイター達がそれぞれに運営するアトリエやギャラリー、 デザインスタジオ、アートの企画事務所等があり、また小さな塾や学校、ワークショップ等も点在し、だんだんと仕事帰り の会社員や主婦など、大人達のための学びの街という側面も育ちつつあります。「長者町スクール・オブ・アーツ」は、ガッ チリしたひとつの学校組織ではなく、この街や、その周囲で様々な形で創作活動や芸術の教育・普及に関わり、個々に 活動するクリエイターの点をつないだネットワークで、クリエイターズ・コレクティブと呼ばれるような組織です。 街おこしの為というわけではなく、十分に成熟し経済も回るこの街を、どう面白く、教育的で、クリエイターを生み出 していく場にしていくかということを、それぞれが独立した立場のまま考え、時に共通の目標のため協働して実現してい こうとしています。 ここに集う面々は、アーティストや芸術教育者のみならず、アートにあまり縁のない仕事や暮らしをしている会社員や主婦、 自営業と様々ですが、長者町スクール・オブ・アーツが 作り出す「場」に参加するうちに、自らの表現活動を始めたり、 企画を考えたりする「送り手」に変わっていきます。 2018年に発足した、この長者町スクール・オブ・アーツの最初の企画が、この ART FARMing プロジェクトです。 限られた場所を生かして、自らの糧を手作りする手段を考える都市農業アートの試みは、このような人々の集まりの話 合いの中から生まれてきた思いつきを形にしたもので、創る人を生み出していこうとするこの集まりの方向性を象徴する ものになっていたと思います。 勿論、人々の糧は農業に限らず、経済や歴史、美術や文化、科学や技術等々と多岐にわたっています。これからも、自 らこれらを知り、考え、手作りするきっかけを作り続けて、社会の為の、ゆるやかな学園のような場であれればと我々 は考えているのです。

Chojamachi School of Arts & ART FARMing

In the center of Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture, 2-chome Nishiki Naka-ku, “Chojamachi” has been incorporating art into town development for the past 20 years. Having served as a venue for Aichi Triennale for three times for about 10 years, various artists, designers, producers and other creators and academia have been paying attention to this area. Each of them is connected to the economy of the place. Nevertheless, we continue our activities from inside and outside perspective. At present, there are ateliers, galleries, design studios, art planning offices, etc., and small schools, and workshops run by creators with high skills and ideas in the Chojamachi area. Chojamachi is gradually growing up as a town for studying for adults, such as office workers returning from their works and housewives etc. Chojamachi School of Arts is not a robust school organization but a network called creators collective that connects creators who work individually on creative activities and creative education in and around this area. This organization is not meant to be a city revitalizer, but to make this fully mature and economically viable city, be a place of interest, education to create creators. Each participant thinks independently, but sometimes works together to achieve common goals. The people gathered here are not only artists and art educators, but also office workers and housewives, self-employed, etc. who work and live separately from fine arts. However, as they participate opportunities that Chojamachi School of Arts presents, they would become “senders” who start their own art activities and think about creative plannings. The first project of the Chojamachi School of Arts, launched in 2018, is the ART FARMing project. This attempt at urban agriculture art that considers a means to handcraft your own food, making use of limited places, embodies an idea that emerged from the discussion of such a gathering of people. This project became a symbol of the direction of this gathering to create creators. Needless to say, people's reason for life is not limited to agriculture, but covers a wide variety of fields, including economy, history, art and culture, science and technology. We will continue to create opportunities for knowing, thinking, and hand-crafting these things on our own, to be a place like a campus for society without boundaries.
